Dog barking log
A neighbour or landlord says your dog barks while you're out? A dated log of every absence (quiet days included) shows them, and you, what is really happening, and that you're working on it.
Making the log useful
Record, don't guess.Leave a phone recording (Voice Memos works) or a pet camera running while you're out, and note when barking starts and how long it lasts.
Look for the pattern. Barking that starts within minutes of you leaving, with whining or howling, usually means separation distress. Barking at passers-by or noises points to alerting instead, and blocking the view or adding white noise often helps.
Show you're acting. Sharing the log along with your plan (shorter absences, a dog walker, training) usually calms a complaint down.
